Before You Move:
📦 Label like a pro. Name or number every box and piece of furniture by the room it’s headed to. Your movers (and your stress levels) will thank you.
🛠 Pack a “no duh” toolbox. Hammer, screwdriver, drill, nails, flashlight—just toss it all in a small box and keep it close. You’ll need it, guaranteed.
🧊 Defrost the fridge. Do it the day before your move. Nobody wants a surprise puddle.
💡 Disconnect and drain. Empty fuel from power mowers, outdoor gear, and anything gas-powered. Safety first.
🖼 Buy a few picture hooks. For when you want to feel “moved in” without waiting two weeks to hang your favorite art.
🏷 Mark the essentials. Use a bold marker and masking tape to label what you’ll need first. Pack it last = unpack it first.
❄️ Mind the temps. Moving in AZ heat or a winter chill? Keep temperature-sensitive items out of the truck and with you.
🛏 Towels + pillows = padding. Tuck them in dresser drawers for a little extra cushion (and efficiency!).

Reminders
🛠 Leave behind anything attached to the home (curtain rods, mounted fixtures, etc.).
🧼 Toss anything flammable—paint, turpentine, lighter fluid. It’s not worth the risk.
🚗 Keep valuables with you. Cash, jewelry, important docs—don’t pack those in the truck.
🧳 Set aside luggage and anything not going with the movers so it doesn’t end up where it shouldn’t.
🍽 Pack one box with dishes and utensils for your first meal at the new place. Keep it accessible (or take it in your car).
🛻 If you’re moving into a new build, double-check that your street/driveway is accessible for the moving truck.
